There are three ways shops pay for billing software in India. Here is what each one costs, what changes the price, and what to ask before you pay anyone, including us.
Three ways to pay
- Yearly apps. General billing apps for every kind of shop. Roughly ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 a year, paid every year for as long as you use it.
- One-time software. You pay once and keep it. Roughly ₹5,500 to ₹26,000, depending on the edition and number of users.
- Made for one trade. Software sold for a single trade, such as glass shops. Listings we have seen range from about ₹15,000 to ₹25,000.
- These are ranges we found on the sellers' own pages and listings in 2026. Prices change, so check the current price before you decide.
What changes the price
- How many devices and users. Many apps charge more for each extra computer, phone or staff login.
- Who loads your items. A hardware shop has thousands of items. Typing them in yourself is free but takes weeks. Having them loaded for you costs money or is not offered at all.
- Your own bill format. Logo, letterhead and layout changes are often charged separately.
- Updates. With a yearly app, updates are inside the yearly fee. With one-time software, later updates are usually paid.
- Help when you are stuck. Ask whether you get a person on the phone or only a chat queue.
Add it up over five years
- A yearly app at ₹4,000 a year is ₹20,000 over five years, and it stops the year you stop paying.
- One-time software at ₹15,000 is ₹15,000 over five years, plus any updates you choose to buy.
- Neither is always cheaper. If you want every new feature the moment it comes, yearly suits you. If your way of billing does not change much, one-time usually costs less.

- If I stop paying, can I still open and export my old bills?

KC Billing is a one-time payment for lifetime use. There is no charge per device. We load your item list and set up your logo and bill format before handing it over.
The amount depends on the size of your shop and item list, so we quote it after a short call. Later updates, including changes for new tax rules, are charged separately. We tell you the price of an update before you decide to take it.

Questions
Is there free billing software for hardware shops?
Yes, several apps have free plans. They usually limit the number of bills, items or devices, or leave out stock and reports. They are a fair way to start a very small shop.
Why do you not show a price on the website?
Because it depends on how many items we load and how many people bill. A shop with 500 items and one counter should not pay the same as one with 8,000 items and five staff.
Do I have to pay every year?
No. You pay once. You only pay again if you choose to take a later update.
